A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, GRANTING TO THE
HERTZ CORPORATION PERMISSION TO SPONSOR A HOT
AIR BALLOON OFFERING COMPLIMENTARY RIDES FROM
THE PARKING LOT OF THE MIAMI BEACH CONVENTION
CENTER DURING THE COTAL CONGRESS ON MAY 14-16 ,
1985.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is a co-host for the
COTAL Congress being held May 13-18 , 1985; and
WHEREAS, the City will be responsible for all activities
being held at the Miami Beach Convention Center , including the
trade show to be held May 14-16 ; and
WHEREAS, the Hertz Corporation would like to sponsor a
hot air balloon offering complimentary rides for those attending
the trade show; and
WHEREAS, this activity will be offered from the
Convention Center parking lot; and
WHEREAS, Hertz Corporation will be executing an
indemnity agreement and furnishing to the Insurance Manager a
certificate evidencing a minimum of Five Million ($5 ,000 ,000. 00)
Dollars general liability insurance coverage to protect the safety
of the City and its residents against liability,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH that Hertz Corporation will,
prior to May 1, 1985 , (a) sign an indemnity agreement prepared by
the City Attorney; and (b) furnish to the City ' s Insurance Manager
a certificate of insurance evidencing at least Five Million
($5 ,000 ,000. 00) Dollars in general liability insurance, which
certificate names the City as an additional insured.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 3rdday of April, 1985.
