RESOLUTION 85-18183 RESOLUTION NO. 85-18183 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, ENDORSING THE 1985 UNITED WAY COMMUNITY CAMPAIGN ON MIAMI BEACH; GRANTING PERMISSION FOR THE UNITED WAY CAMPAIGN TO FLY THE UNITED WAY FLAG ON THE FLAGPOLE LOCATED AT THE ENTRANCE OF THE LINCOLN ROAD MALL AT WASHINGTON AVENUE; GRANTING PERMISSION TO THE UNITED WAY TO ERECT A "THERMOMETER" TO TRACK THE PROGRESS OF DONATIONS DURING THE 1985 UNITED WAY CAMPAIGN; AND RENAMING THE LINCOLN ROAD MALL "UNITED WAY DRIVE" FOR THE DURATION OF THE CAMPAIGN. WHEREAS, the United Way Campaign is an integral part of community charities in Miami Beach and Dade County; and WHEREAS, the United Way 1985 Campaign wishes the support of both the Miami Beach City Commission and the community at large in reaching its goals for this year; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, 1. That the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach fully endorses the United Way 1985 Campaign for the fund raising drive. 2. That the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach herebyg rants permission to the United Way to fly the United Way flag and/or banner on the flagpole located near the intersection of the Lincoln Road Mall and Washington Avenue for the duration of the Campaign. 3. That the United Way be given permission to erect a "thermometer" to track the progress in reaching the Campaign goals for 1985. 4. That the Lincoln Road Mall be renamed "United Way Drive" for the duration of this Campaign. PASSED and ADOPTED this 18th day of September , 1985. 7 1�....._e , s Y -.
