A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE CERTIFICATE OF THE CITY
COMMISSION APPOINTED COMMITTEE AS TO THE RESULTS
OF THE NOVEMBER 5, 1985 GENERAL AND SPECIAL
ELECTIONS.
WHEREAS, there has been submitted to the City Commission of the City of
Miami Beach, Florida the certification of the City Clerk, City Manager and
the City Attorney as the committee appointed by the City Commission on
September 18, 1985, to act as its representatives regarding the conduct of
the November 5, 1985, general and special elections, and
WHEREAS, said committee has acted as the Commission representatives and
were present at the tabulation of the returns of the election as duly
conducted by the Elections Department of Metropolitan Dade County, and has
certified the returns of the elections;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that having canvassed the returns of the November 5,
1985, general and special elections, as submitted by the committee
hereinabove referred to, it does hereby adopt the Certificate as to the
results of said elections and it is hereby ordered that the same certificate
and this resolution be recorded in the minutes of the meeting as a permanent
record of the results of said elections;
BE IT FURTHER FOUND, DETERMINED AND RESOLVED that the following
candidates for Mayor and City Commissioner, Groups I, II, III, IV, V, and VI
received the highest number of votes cast and are hereby declared ELECTED:
FOR MAYOR : Alex Daoud
FOR CITY COMMISSIONER, GROUP I: Bruce M. Singer
FOR CITY COMMISSIONER, GROUP I I: Stanley H. Arkin
FOR CITY COMMISSIONER, GROUP III: William E. Shockett
FOR CITY COMMISSIONER GROUP IV: Abe Resnick
FOR CITY COMMISSIONER GROUP V: Ben Z. Grenald
FOR CITY COMMISSIONER GROUP VI: Sidney (Sid) Weisburd
AND IT FURTHER FOUND, DETERMINED AND RESOLVED THAT QUESTION #1 WAS approved
PASSED and ADOPTED this 6th day of ,November 4 1985.

We, the City Clerk, City Manager and the City Attorney of the City of Miami
Beach, Florida, do hereby certify that we have made an examination of the
returns of the General and Special Elections held in Miami Beach, Florida, on
November 5, 1985, as conducted by the Clerks and Inspectors who were duly
appointed by the Metropolitan Dade County Supervisor of Elections; and as
reflected by certification received from the Supervisor of Elections of Dade
County Florida; such examination having been made solely, exclusively and
entirely from such returns and certification; and DO HEREBY CERTIFY that as a
result of said examination we have found and DO HEREBY DECLARE the results of
said elections to be as follows:

LEGAL RATE OF INTEREST AT SUCH TIME, TO UPDATE POLICE AND FIRE EMERGENCY
COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS, INCLUDING VEHICLES, AMBULANCES, AND A 911 LOCATION
IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM, TO IMPROVE THE CITY'S RESPONSE TO LIFE THREATENING AND
OTHER CITIZEN EMERGENCIES?"
