A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING IN
CONCEPT, THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A MEMORIAL
MONUMENT TO BE DEDICATED TO CHRISTOPHER
COLUMBUS, SPONSORED BY THE ORDER OF FINE
WINES OF SPAIN, UNDER THE DIRECTION OF MILTON
H. LEHR, CHAMBERLAIN, AND JOSE FEITO,
ARCHITECT, TO BE PLACED AT THE SOUTHERN MOST
TIP OF MIAMI BEACH AND AS FAR EAST AS IS
APPROVED BY PROPER AUTHORITIES, WITH THE
FUNDS FOR CONSTRUCTION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE
MONUMENT TO BE PROVIDED BY PRIVATE FUNDING.
WHEREAS, the City Commission is desirous of establishing a
memorial monument to be dedicated to Christopher Columbus, to be
placed at the southern most tip of Miami Beach and as far east as
is approved by proper authorities.
WHEREAS, the memorial monument is sponsored by the Order of
Fine Wines of Spain, under the direction of Milton H. Lehr,
Chamberlain and Jose Feito, Architect.
WHEREAS, the construction and maintenance of the above
referenced monument will be paidfor by private funding.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
