SUBJECT: PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT FOR BORRELLI, FRANKEL,
BLITSTEIN FOR THE ST T P EN MUSS CONVENTION CENTER
CHANGE ORDER NO.R! •
As we get to the final weeks of Phase I of the Stephen Muss Convention Center, it is
apparent that in order to meet the Super Bowl schedule we must go into overtime. We have
authorized the contractor to proceed with overtime and, in conjunction with this, it is
essential that there not be any delays in providing necessary technical assistance;
specifically, as it relates to those questions concerning mechanical and electrical engineers.
In order to make sure that there is no glitch in providing answers on the site, I have directed
the architects to have on the job from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., five days a week, a
mechanical and electrical engineer. The price for this service is $55 per hour per person. It
is estimated that this service will be required for five weeks and I am requesting a change
order to the Professional Services Agreement in the amount of $22,500 with the
understanding that if any additional services are necessary, I will authorize the architects to
proceed on the same basis. Funds are available from Bond Fund No. 358.
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
The Administratiw recommends that the City Commission adopt the Resolution authorizing
Change Order No , ''`to the Professional Services Agreement of Borrelli, Frankel, Blitstein to
provide part-time professional services for a mechanical and electrical engineer through the
completion of Phase I of the Stephen Muss Convention Center at an estimated amount of
$22,500. Funds are available from Bond Fund No. 358.
