NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH that the City of Miami Beach hereby
recognizes the Discovery of America Quincentennial Committee, Inc.
as the coordinating body of the series of special events,
festivals, cultural and historical activities to be held in the
Greater Miami area to commemorate the 500th Anniversary of the
Discovery of America in a year-long jubilee from October 12 ,
1991 until October 12 , 1992 and encourages the other municipalities
of Dade County to do the same.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of April , 1989 .
