SUBJECT: SOUTH POINTE PARK - PARKING FEE INCREASE
The Administration has been reviewing the operating cost for South Pointe
Park and ways to increase revenues to offset increasing costs for personnel
and equipment. Presently, the parking fee for South Pointe Park is $2.00 per
vehicle. Revenues collected from the fee is used to pay for personnel to
collect fee and surplus revenues are used for maintenance and operation of the
park.
Upon review of the fees being charged for parking in the South Pointe area by
other operators, we found fees ranging from $3.00 to $5.00.
Increasing the South Pointe Parking fee from $2.00 to $3.00 would be in-line
with surrounding lots and still enable us to provide funds for increasing
maintenance costs.
Administration Recommendation '
The Administration recommends increasing the South Pointe Park Parking Fee from
$2.00 to $3.00, effective July 1, 1989.
