A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING BUDGETS FOR CERTAIN CAPITAL
PROJECTS, PROVIDING FOR INCREASED APPROPRIATIONS DUE TO
INCURRED OR PROJECTED COST INCREASES, AS FOLLOWS: STREET
RESURFACING - $41,560; PALM ISLAND STREET LIGHTING -
$11,103; MOUNTED PATROL - $11,194; WIDENING WASHINGTON
AVE. - $157,653; AND, OCEAN DRIVE IMPROVEMENT - $100,000
WITH FUNDING TO BE PROVIDED FROM THE CORRESPONDING BOND
FUNDS.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach had previously adopted budgets for all
capital projects and such budgets are valid until the completion of the project;
and,
WHEREAS, it is necessary to increase the appropriations for certain
projects in order to cover cost overruns or projected cost increases; and,
WHEREAS, the funding for such increases are available in the corresponding
bond funds.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach hereby
amends the Capital Budgets, increasing appropriations with corresponding
increases in revenues from the unappropriated fund balances, as follows:

SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE BUDGETS OF CERTAIN CAPITAL PROJECTS
PROVIDING FOR INCREASED APPROPRIATIONS
The attached Resolution amends the budgets of certain capital projects by in-
creasing appropriations necessary to offset current or projected deficits. A
summary of the various projects and increased appropriations are as follows:
1 . STREET RESURFACING, VARIOUS LOCATIONS - $41,560
This work order was established to resurface various streets throughout Miami
Beach. It is presently reflecting a deficit of $41,560 due to the resurfacing
of Indian Creek Drive from 67th. to 71st. Street.
2. PALM ISLAND STREET LIGHTING - $11,103
This cost increase is associated with streetlights on Palm Island including the
center parkway and Hibiscus Island.
3. MOUNTED PATROL - $11, 194
Cost increases for this project was related to the relocation of the groom's
quarters to the second floor and increased electronic security system for the
protection of the horses.
4. WIDENING WASHINGTON AVE. , BISCAYNE STREET TO FIRST STREET - $157,653
Additional funds were required for the acquisition of properties, demolition of
structures, and relocation costs.
5. OCEAN DRIVE IMPROVEMENT, 5TH. STREET TO 15TH. STREET - $100,000
Additional funds are required due to rerouting of traffic, anticipated changes
in design as requested by Miami Beach Development Association, to include
electricity on the west side of Ocean Drive.
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION
The Administration recommends that the City Commission adopt the attached
Resolution amending the budgets by increasing the appropriations for various
capital projects with funding from the corresponding Bond Funds.
