CITY OF MIAMI BEACH COMMITTING TO PROVIaE IN
THE 1990-91 CITY BUDGET A SPECIFIC LINt ITEM TO
PROVIDE MATCHING GRANT FUNDS NOT TO EXCEED
$25,000.00, AS PART OF THE CITY'S APPLICATION TO
THE CLEAN FLORIDA COMMISSION FOR A FLORIDA
LITTER PREVENTION GRANT
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH:
WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is submitting an application to the
Clean Florida Commission for a Florida Litter Prevention Grant in the amount of
$25,000.00; and
WHEREAS, as the grant application criteria require the applicant to match
the grant funding dollar for dollar in accordance with Rule 56-1.005; and
WHEREAS, as the grant application requires the inclusion of
documentation that the applicant has matching funds committed equal to the
grant amount and that such documentation shall include a binding resolution by
the governing board of local government.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that matching funds will be
provided upon receipt of the grant and that said amount will be included in the
City of Miami Beach Annual Budget.

SUBJECT: PROVIDE MAT HING GRANT FUNDS NOT TO EXCEED $25,000.00, AS
PART OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH APPLICATION TO THE CLEAN
FLORIDA COMMISSION FOR A FLORIDA LITTER PREVENTION GRANT
The City Administration is requesting to commit a specific line item in the 1990-91 Budget
to provide matching grant funds not to exceed $25,000.00, as part of the City of Miami
Beach's application to the Clean Florida Commission for a Florida Litter Prevention Grant.
As part of the 1990 budget planning process, the City of Miami Beach will propose personnel
and capital resources to deal with the mechanical aspects of the identified litter problem.
In tandem with the physical activity, it will be necessary to develop an educational and
marketing plan to raise community concerns and to solicit cooperation and support of a
Litter Prevention Program.
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission adopt the Resolution authorizing the provision
in the 1990-91 Budget of a specific line item to provide matching grant funds not to exceed
$25,000.00, as part of the City's application to the Clean Florida Commission for a Florida
Litter Prevention Grant.
