Subject: Mango Festival - Cancelled
Hi Mayor and Commissioners
I received a phone call from Robert Lansburgh this morning, who informed me that the Mango Festival in Lummus Park
will be cancelled this year,so the administration will not be executing Resolution-201930819 regarding$29,323.25 in
permit fee waivers.
He had a few reasons for making the decision:
-inability to secure sponsorship
-low ticket sales
-inability to secure vendors
-an early mango season that did not allow him to secure the required amount of product.
We are sad to hear that this event will not take place, but the Tourism and Culture department feels that it was the
correct call,given the circumstances.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Thanks,
Matt
