A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, FOR THE 9TH AMENDMENT
TO THE CONFISCATION FUND BUDGET, TO PROVIDE
FUNDS FOR B.A.R.R. II ($40, 000) ; P.A.L. SUMMER
JOBS PROGRAM ($10, 000) ; P.A.L. MATCHING FUNDS
($20, 000) ; MARINE PATROL BOAT ($38, 300) ; TWO
ATVs ($8 , 000) ; SURVEILLANCE EQUIPMENT ($19 , 000) ;
WEAPONS, LEATHER AND AMMUNITION FOR UNDERCOVER
OFFICERS ($9, 500) ; UTILITIES AND SIGNAGE FOR TWO
MINI-STATIONS ($10, 000) .
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA:
WHEREAS, Section 932 .704 (3) (a) , Florida Statutes,
addresses the purposes and procedures to be utilized for the
appropriation and expenditures of the Police Confiscation Fund; and
WHEREAS, the Chief of Police of the City of Miami Beach
has determined that the needs for expenditures and appropriation
exist and the expenditure or appropriation of forfeiture funds is in
compliance with Section 932 . 704 (3) (a) ; and
WHEREAS, such funds are available in the Police
Confiscation Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT the City Commission hereby
amends the FY 1990/91 Police Confiscation Fund Budget for the City
of Miami Beach by an amount of $154 , 800. (as reflected in Exhibit
1) , said amendment to result in the amended budget as reflected
hereinbelow.

SUBJECT: POLICE CONFISCATION TRUST ACCOUNT FOR FY 1990/91
The Administration requests an amendment to Resolution 90-20073 for
the operating budget of the Police Confiscation Trust Account to
appropriate an additional $154, 000. 00 to provide funds for the
second phase of B.A.R.R. , a burglary, auto theft and robbery
reduction task force; a Miami Beach Police Athletic League summer
jobs program; matching funds to the Miami Beach Police Athletic
League for expansion and equipping of the wrestling and kickboxing
room; a Marine Patrol boat to be used for drug interdiction, speed
enforcement, and water safety, and the purchase of office equipment
for the new Marine Patrol facility; purchase of two Kawasaki Bayou
4x4 ATVs to be used by the Beach Patrol Unit; purchase of
surveillance equipment to be used by the Strategic Investigation
Unit and Operation Crackdown enforcement units; the purchase of
fifteen . 380 cal. Sig Sauer automatic pistols, leather, and
ammunition to be used by undercover and narcotics enforcement
officers, and payment of utilities, signage, and office equipment
for two Police Department mini-stations. The additional
appropriation will increase the Police Confiscation budget to
$1, 049, 117 . for the Fiscal Year 1990/91.
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION
The Administration recommends that the City Commission adopt the
operating budget for the Police Confiscation Trust Account and
appropriate funding.
