A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR THE FOURTH AMENDMENT TO
THE FY 1990/91 GENERAL FUND BUDGET; MAKING PROVISIONS TO
INCREASE THE APPROPRIATION BUDGET FOR THE BEACH PATROL
DEPARTMENT IN AN AMOUNT OF $163,401 TO FUND THE SETTLE-
MENT AGREEMENT WITH FUNDING TO BE PROVIDED FROM THE
GENERAL FUND BALANCE.
WHEREAS, on July 10, 1991, the City of Miami Beach entered into a
conceptual agreement, subject to approval by the City Commission of the City of
Miami Beach, with the Miami Beach Employees Benevolent Association and Joseph H.
Kaplan, Esq. , Attorney, regarding certain lifeguards in the Beach Patrol
Department, as attached here-to; and,
WHEREAS, on July 10, 1991, the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach
approved such agreement; and,
WHEREAS, in order to fund the cost of the settlement agreement, it is
necessary to amend the FY 1990/91 General Fund budget to provide additional funds
in the amount of $163,401 from the General Fund balance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach hereby
amends the General Fund budget for the Beach Patrol Department by increasing
appropriations in the amount $163,401 to fund the settlement agreement, with
corresponding revenues to be provided from the General Fund balance as summarized
and set forth below.

The attached resolutionP rovides for fourth amendment to the FY 1990/91 General
Fund budget as follows:
1. BEACH PATROL - $163,401
• To provide funding for the settlement agreement between the City of Miami
Beach, the Miami Beach Employees Benevolent Association, and Joseph H.
Kaplan, Esq. , Attorney, regarding certain lifeguards in the Beach Patrol
Department. A copy of the "Settlement Agreement" is attached herein.
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION
The Administration recommends that the City Commission adopt the attached
resolutionrovidin for the fourth amendment to the FY 1990/91 General Fund
