BOARDS AND COMMITTEE BI-ANNUAL REPORT - PAGE 2 OF 2 BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS' From January to June, 2003 the Board heard approximately 50 cases, including variance and appeal cases, progress reports, and requests for modifications and extensions of time. The Board also heard continued cases and cases involving introduction of new tenants at locations that had previously been granted variances for similar operations. The Board's accomplishments up until now have been limited to adoption of amended by-laws and holding hearings during its monthly meetings. In those cases where variances have been granted, stringent conditions have generally been imposed on the property in an effort to minimize and/or eliminate any detrimental effect the variance(s) might otherwise have on neighbors and the community in general.
