Tu B’Shevat Tree Planting Ceremony
— Celebrating the Jewish New Year for Trees —
WHO/WHAT: Join the City of Miami Beach, the Jewish National Fund and the Israeli
Consulate in a tree planting ceremony on Wednesday, January 23 at
10:30 a.m. at Pinetree Park in celebration of Tu B’Shevat, the Jewish
New Year for trees.
Mayor Dan Gelber and the Consul General of Israel Lior Haiat will both
be speaking at the traditional event for the community. Following the
event, the City’s Environment & Sustainability Department will distribute
seeds for attendees to plant their own trees and reusable bags to
encourage individuals to do their part in preserving them.
Symbolizing a long-standing tradition of giving back, the unique tree
planting ceremony helps further environmental awareness throughout
the City.
