The purpose ofthis LTC is to inform the Mayor and Commission on the City's plans for the
upcoming Labor Day holiday weekend. In keeping with the City's planning for major events
and holiday weekends, the Administration has been closely monitoring the activities
planned for Labor Day Weekend.
The City will host the annual Home Show at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
Additionally, the Ultra Beach Fest will also hold its event at the Miami Beach Convention
Center on Sunday, August 31. There are no special public events permitted in the City for
this holiday weekend. However, a facility rental of the 73rd Street Bandshell for a Latin
Grammys Event has been authorized for Saturday, August 30, 2003.
Attached please find a community notice that has been distributed containing information
on events at Public Venues, notice of enhanced staffing plans and hotline and web access
information if further question are required.
Additionally, commencing August 30, 2003 there are a series of private events for the
upcoming Latin Grammy's as scheduled below:

Police and Parking are coordinating with the Loews hotel to coordinate parking and access
for the Latin Grammys after party, and the City will accommodate limo staging within the
preferred lot.

In keeping with the City's planning for major events and holiday weekends, the City has
been closely monitoring the activities planned for Labor Day Weekend. The City will
host the annual Home Show at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Additionally, the
Ultra Beach Fest will host its event at the Miami Beach Convention Center on Sunday,
August 31. There are no special public events permitted in the City for this holiday
weekend. Nightclubs that have a 5:00 a.m. liquor license will not be permitted to extend
their hours of operation.
