A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING
(AFTER THE FACT) THE EXECUTION AND SUBMISSION
OF THE ATTACHED APPLICATION BY THE BASS MUSEUM
OF ART FOR ADVERTISING FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT
OF $54,261 TO THE VISITORS AND CONVENTION
AUTHORITY.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA:
WHEREAS, the Bass Museum of Art, City of Miami Beach, has
submitted the attached application to the Visitors and Convention
Authority for advertising funding in the amount of $54 , 261 on
October 1, 1992 in order to meet the date requirement; and
WHEREAS, the Visitors and Convention Authority has agreed to
pay for advertising up to $40, 000 for the Museum according to the
plan attached to the application; and
WHEREAS, this application does not require matching funds from
the City of Miami Beach;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA that the Bass Museum of Art is
hereby authorized, after the fact, to execute and submit the
attached application for advertising fun ina.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 21st DAY OF October , 1992 .

SUBJECT: ADOPTION OF A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING (AFTER
THE FACT) THE EXECUTION AND SUBMISSION OF THE
ATTACHED APPLICATION BY THE BASS MUSEUM OF ART FOR
ADVERTISING FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $54,261 TO THE
VISITORS AND CONVENTION AUTHORITY.
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
The Administration recommends adoption of the attached resolution
as described above.
BACKGROUND:
The Visitors and Convention Authority has agreed to pay for
advertising up to $40, 000 for the Bass Museum of Art according to
the media plan submitted to them. The Museum will examine the
advertising bills and authorize payment by the VCA. This procedure
has been followed successfully for the past several years. No
matching funds are required from the City of Miami Beach.
ANALYSIS:
To advertise appropriately and make the best use of advertising
dollars in order to attract visitors to Miami Beach and to the
Museum it was necessary to apply for funds.
CONCLUSION:
The resolution must be approved after the fact as the application
was submitted on October 1, 1992 , in order to meet the date
requirement.
