PLANNING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE GRANT FROM THE
NATIONAL PARKS SERVICE'S RIVERS, TRAILS AND CONSERVATION
ASSISTANCE PROGRAM TO DEVELOP A GREENWAY FOR
RECREATION AND CONSERVATION ON INDIAN CREEK.
The City of Miami Beach was awarded a planning and technical assistance grant from the National
Parks Service's Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance Program to develop a greenway for
recreation and conservation on Indian Creek. The authorization to apply for and accept this grant
was passed per Resolution No. 98-22812 at the July 1, 1998, City Commission Meeting.
Catherine Farmer and Joseph Cooley from the National Park Service, RTCA program will be in
Miami Beach on January 13-14, 1999, to discuss preliminary ideas with City staff and residents.
The meeting with City staff will be held on January 13, 1999, in the City Manager's Large
Conference Room commencing at 10:45a.m. Additionally, there will be a publicly noticed workshop
on January 14, 1999 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 Noon at the Botanical Garden, 2000 Convention Center
Drive.
