Executive Director submitted reports on following:
1) South Pointe Towers - Certificate of Occupancy CLQ
expected to be issued in July. Light sculpture
lighting ceremony to be held June 28. Negotiation q
continue re CenTrust's foreclosure proceedings on 1,11,,k
project. Situation expected to be resolved soon to'
mutual satisfaction of lender and developer.
2) Police Station Residential Development - RFP to be›

completed, reviewed by Land Use & Development Scit‘
Committee, and presented to City Commission on July 15.
RFP expected to include developer assistance to finance
and construct residential townhomes on the site.
3) South Beach Elementary School - Acquisition process64P/ '

continues. Closing �' 1
on 312 Michigan Ave. expected to
occur in two weeks. Negotiations with adjacent ; ,(0)
property owners continue and recommendations will be`�
made shortly re condemnation proceedings for remaining
properties. Frankel and Associates, Inc. was selected •
as architects for renovation; contract is being 0 ppo
negotiated. School Board awaiting State approval to .! t
construct facility on a site smaller than required for
a new elementary school. U. S. Coast Guard is using S "'
premises for storage and parking and is responsible fo k, /H9
keeping premises secured. School Board employees have
been instructed to clean property, including removing
debris and cutting grass on the site.
4) Penrod's Restaurant - Final plans were submitted to :•'

5) Code Enforcement Strategy - City's Economic &

6) Goodman Terrace - City Commission and Housing
Authority met jointly on May 13 concerning Goodman; 0
Terrace. Housing Authority continues to pursue HUD

Strategy. Letter of support was submitted May 27,f
1987, to Housing Authority, for inclusion in their f
discussions with HUD. City and Housing Authority
continue to pursue granting of easement from Housing
Authority on east side of Goodman Terrace for extension
of street and sidewalk improvements on Washington
Avenue from Biscayne Street to entrance of South Pointe o
Park. Justification documentation has been prepared in
preparation for a meeting with HUD.
