142-93 Resolution of the Miami Beach Redevelopment
Agency adopted declaring the Agency's
support for, and further urging the
approval of the attached resolution of the
Board of County Commissioners of Dade
County, Florida, approving certain terms of
Miami Beach Redevelopment Agency Tax
Increment Revenue Bonds, Series 1993, (City
Center/Historic Convention Village) , and
ordinance of the Board of County
Commissioners amending Section 29-81 of the
Code of Metropolitan Dade County, Florida,
relating to economic development and ad
valorem tax exemptions for new and
expanding businesses in enterprise zones to
exclude a newly created community
redevelopment area located in South Miami
Beach. (Note: Amendment will disallow
provision of economic development ad
valorem tax exemptions for new and
expanding businesses. )
B. REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY MEMO NO. 93-33 1, 2-23, 27
143-93 Resolution of the Miami Beach Redevelopment
Agency adopted declaring acquisition of the
property known as the St. Moritz located at
1565 Collins Avenue and legally described
as the N. 1/2 of Lot 8 and Lots 9 and 10
and Lots 11 and 12 and the N. 1/2 of Lot
13, Block 56, ALTON BEACH FIRST
SUBDIVISION, as recorded in Plat Book 2, at
Page 77, to be a public necessity for the
project know as City Center/Historic
Convention Village Project, authorizing the
acquisition of the St. Moritz by purchase,
donation, or the filing of eminent domain
proceedings and declaration of taking, as
necessary, as a potential site for a hotel
development; authorizing the Chairman of
the Miami Beach Redevelopment Agency and
Secretary to execute the required
documentation to initiate eminent domain
proceedings. (Note: Quick take
authorized. )

Agency adopted approving a Contract for
Sale in the amount of $1,850,000 for the
property known as the Poinciana Hotel site
located at 1555 Collins Avenue as a
potential site for a hotel development;
authorizing the Chairman of the Miami Beach
Redevelopment Agency and Secretary to
execute the Contract for Sale subject to
the aforestated terms . (City
Center/Historic Convention Village Project)

Bob Gallaher (Hedg-Peth & Gallaher,
appraiser) responded to questions
concerning pros and cons of quick-
take versus slow-take.
