We have begunun discussions with our Tallahassee Lobbyist to attempt to secure adequate funding to purchase the Property. We are also preparing for a meeting with GSA (including an'invitation for them to visit with us) to further explore alternatives to the sale of this Property. 2) Cheezem Development Agreement The preloading of the site for the first condominium tower is complete, process, and theP , Cheezem's Building Permit is still in p , n plans for the Groundbreaking Ceremony for mid-March are being firmed up. • 3) South Pointe Park Phase I construction, which consists of the. parking areas, roadways with lighting, Y underground utilities, tree transplanting, irrigation feeders, ark lighting,s P jetty promenade and interior walkways,, is approximately 50% completed. Phase II construction, which consists of the amphitheater with a tensile structure stage covering, adjacent support building with public restrooms, picnic shelters and pavilion, vita course, observation towers, dune boardwalks, athletic field lighting, g'irrigation systems and final landscaping, is approximately 15% complete. This project is on schedule, and is within the approved budget that was appropriated. ro riated. 4) Newman Contract The audio/visual for South Pointe is nearly complete, and a second Newsletter is currently being prepared. An Investor Kit is being formulated for the Developer/Investor Conference. Most of Mr. Newman's efforts are directed toward assisting in the coordination of the Developer/Investor Conference scheduled for mid-March. • 5) SSDI Lawsuit The City Attorney's Office will report on the outcome of the Hearingthat was scheduled before Judge Turner e on March 5, 1985, with respect to the Exercise of Option by SSDI. 6) Corridor Studies Attached is a copy of Goodkin's initial research with respect to the housing absorption rates. Consultants are targeting the completion of their work for the Developer/Investor Conference in mid-March. 7) Housing Authority Negotiations The Housing Authority's proposed Agreement is scheduled for discussion on the regular CityCommie,ion Agenda.
