1) Status of GSA Property
We continue to work with Congressman Pepper and Senator Hawkins in our attempts to
either delay the sale or to have the property dedicated for .purposes.ur

2) Cheezem Development Agreement
We have been informed by Cheezem Development Company that they have exercised
sedthe option on the Dog Track Property effective May 31,
1985.
3) South Pointe Park
Phase I construction, which consists of the parking areas, roadways with lighting,ghting,under round utilities, tree transplanting, irrigation feeders, park lighting, jettypromenade and interior walkways, is approximately 70% complete.
Phase II construction, which consists of the amphitheater with a tensile structure
stage covering, adjacent support building with public restrooms, P icnic shelters and
pavilion, vita course, observation towers, dune boardwalks, athletic field lighting,
g,irrigation systems and final landscaping, is approximately 27% complete.
This project is on schedule, and is within the approved budget that was appropriated.

4) South Pointe Promotional Efforts •
Little has been undertaken during the past several weeks toromote South Pointe,
ointe,
with the exception of the distribution of the Spring edition of the South Pointe
Newsletter. Staff's efforts have been directed at negotiations with respect to the
SSDI Lawsuit.
5) SSDI Lawsuit/Settlement Negotiations
The attached memorandum (to be submitted) outlines the current status of the
negotiations to create a Development Agreement with First Boston.
6) Housing Authority Negotiations
Freilich and Leitner have declined to comment on the impact of thero osed

easement with regard to the Carner/Mason lease since they have not participated in
the overall negotiations with the Housing Authority. The City Attorney's Office is
currently analyzing the impact.
