1. Roll Call - Meeting called to order at 9:55 a.m. All 1
members present except Commissioner Resnick (arrived at
10:17 a.m. )
2. Acceptance of Minutes of April 18, 1990. 1
3. Report of Executive Director
The Executive Director summarized the Status Report on 1-2
Proposed Marriott/Rahn Development, dated 5/3/90, prepared
by Karen L. Hobson, Deputy Director, submitted at the
meeting. The report covered the following points:
Development Agreement, Phase I Site Assembly, Phase II,
Relocation, Ocean Front Parks, Urban Design Issues, Traffic
Study, Feasibility Analysis, Tax Revenue Sources Available
to Repay Public Funding, Budget for Outside Consultants,
Block 9 RFP, and Conclusion. The negotiating team
requested direction from the Agency members on 1)
availability of other sources of public funding for Phase
I;
2) how to proceed on Marriott/Rahn's Phase II request;
and 3) a time frame for concluding the negotiations. (See
4. below for action in response to this report. )
4. Old Business
Chairman and Commissioners stated positions concerning the 2-13
Marr:Lott/Rahn development. Interested citizens heard. As
recommended by the Agency's Finance Committee, Executive
Director was asked to schedule a workshop with all
interested parties represented. (Clerk's Note: A public
workshop meeting of the Agency's Finance Committee
subsequently scheduled for Thursday, May 31, 1990, at 4:00
p.m. in City Commission Chambers. )
5. New Business
Copy of transcription of City Commission item R-9A, a attachment
discussion regarding issuance of variances in the
Redevelopment area, is made a part of the records of this
meeting.
Also made part of record are
1) 4/5/90 letter of Arthur Courshon, Chairman of
South Pointe Advisory Board, advising of the Board's
negative position on granting variances for lots
less than 100 feet;
2) 2/7/90 review letter by City Attorney's office,
concerning Board of Adjustment File No. 2905, for
property at 315 Ocean Drive (Lot 9, Block 115, OCEAN
BEACH ADDITION NO. 4, PB 3/151, P/R Dade County, FL)
