City of Miami Beach Debuts Six Permanent, Large-Scale Works by
Renowned Artists at the Miami Beach Convention Center
— Thursday, December 5 at 9 a.m., Followed by a Media Tour—
WHAT: The City of Miami Beach will introduce works by artists Franz Ackermann,
Elmgreen & Dragset, Ellen Harvey, Joseph Kosuth, Joep van
Lieshout and Sarah Morris, who have created large-scale, site-specific
permanent works of public art at the newly renovated and expanded Miami
Beach Convention Center this Thursday, December 5 at 9 a.m.
Commissioned by the City of Miami Beach Art in Public Places program,
the projects represent the largest single commission by a municipal
percent-for-art program in U.S. history.
Guided media tours of the artworks will begin after the press conference
with an opportunity for sound from each artist. RSVP is mandatory for
participation in tours melissaberthier@miamibeachfl.gov.
