Miami Beach Adopts New Resilience and Strategic Plans
—Focused on Building Resilience in the Short and Long-Term—
Miami Beach, FL – Today, the City Commission unanimously voted to adopt the
Greater Miami and the Beaches resilience strategy, Resilient305, and adopt its own
updated strategic plan, Miami Beach Through the Lens of Resilience.
“These plans truly reflect our city’s leading values and priorities and present a more
integrated approach to prioritizing our resources and services,” shared City Manager
Jimmy L. Morales. “I’m confident in their success in better positioning our community to
build for resilience.”
Rather than having separate strategic and resilience plans, the Miami Beach Strategic
Plan Through the Lens of Resilience provides one comprehensive strategy that focuses
on the municipality’s needs in both near-term and long-term time horizons. The dynamic
vision comes as a result of the recent community survey, management objectives and
City Commission goals.
Taking into account important resilience actions for the city, the Resilient305 strategy is
the result of a unique collaboration between the City of Miami Beach, Miami-Dade
County and the City of Miami to develop a resilience plan that crosses municipal
borders. Addressing the shocks and stresses of each community, the strategy focuses
on embracing and institutionalizing resilience in planning and operations.
