Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Nautilus’ Polo Park
—Thursday, September 5 at Polo Park—
WHO/WHAT: Join the City of Miami Beach for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at Nautilus’
Polo Park to celebrate the recently completed construction that was
funded as part of the city’s $439 million total General Obligation (G.O.)
Bond Program.
The Mayor and City Commission will inaugurate Polo Park as the first
park project of the G.O. Bond Program to reach 100 percent completion.
City Manager Jimmy L. Morales will also be there to introduce the new
and improved park features to the Nautilus-area community.
In just one month of construction time, Polo Park has been upgraded
with several baseball field enhancements that include a full laser-grading
of the field, new dugouts, additional spectator bleachers, taller fencing
and safety netting and a new backstop. A new concrete perimeter
pathway was also installed along with new landscaping, irrigation, water
fountains, benches, picnic tables and trash receptacles.
Two other park projects – Crespi Park and Stillwater Park – will also be
recognized for nearing their completions as both North Beach parks are
expected to finish their G.O. Bond-funded renovations within the next
few weeks. Under the Mayor & Commission’s direction and as a result of
community input, a significant $169 million of the G.O. Bond program is
allocated to park improvement projects.
