RIVERDANCE-THE SHOW, the immensely popular and successful Irish dance and music
spectacular set a new Jackie Gleason Theater record grossing $2,367,342 during its two week
run.
Already witnessed by more than 4 million people around the world, close to 40,000 guests
enjoyed this high-energy display of rhythm and dance during 16 magical sold-out performances,
presented as part of the MasterCard Broadway Series of Miami Beach.
"The Jackie Gleason Theater has been home to some of the world's most popular productions
and is pleased to continue the tradition by hosting some of the hottest and entertaining acts to
ever hit a stage. We congratulate RIVERDANCE, The MasterCard Broadway Series of Miami
Beach, and Jack Utsick on their success. We are proud to introduce the joy of theater to a
younger, culturally diverse audience," comments Doug Tober, General Manager of the Miami
Beach Convention Center and Jackie Gleason Theater.
Susan Krajsa, Vice-President of PTG-Florida, adds, "We are very pleased with the
overwhelming success of RIVERDANCE. The response we received certainly confirms the
decision to alter the programming at the Jackie Gleason Theater from more traditional to
alternative programming. With upcoming engagements of BRING IN 'DA NOISE/BRING IN
'DA FUNK and FOOTLOOSE, we continually strive to fulfill our commitment of presenting
Broadway product that appeals to the new demographics of Miami Beach."
The Jackie Gleason Theater is managed by SMG, the leading private management company for
public assembly facilities worldwide. The Philadelphia based firm operates 65 arenas, stadiums,
convention centers and theaters in the United States and Europe.
