AMS FACILITIES ASSESSMENT WORKSHOP
Date: September 19, 2003
To:
Subject:
As you are aware, the City has recently engaged the services of the national arts-
management consulting firm, AMS Planning & Research Corp efforts to identify strategies
and tools to promote and leverage the Beach's arts and cultural facilities. Over the past
several months, AMS and the Department of Tourism and Cultural Development (TCD)
have administered surveys to arts facilities and organizations throughout Miami Beach.
The data collected has enabled AMS to assess existing facilities and gather information
from organizations regarding key operating issues.
Each arts organization plays an important role in positioning Miami Beach as a unique
destination for arts and culture. As key contributors, we have invited a group of potential
users to be at the table to discuss opportunities and strategies for further development of
the arts on Miami Beach, specifically in regards to their needs and the capabilities of the
City's existing facilities.
The workshop will be held on October 7,2003, from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Miami Beach
Botanical Garden located at 2000 Convention Center Drive across from Hall D of the Miami
Beach Convention Center. Your participation in this workshop is welcome. A draft agenda
is attached for your review.
Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
