City of Miami Beach, Governor DeSantis, Miami-Dade County and
Army Corps of Engineers Host Media Availability
—Tomorrow, April 8 at the Miami Beach Convention Center —
WHO/WHAT: The City of Miami Beach and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers
Jacksonville District will host a media availability on Wednesday, April 8
at 1:15 p.m. to allow reporters to learn more about the plans to convert
the Miami Beach Convention Center into an alternate care facility (ACF).
The following officials are scheduled to take part in the news conference:
- Florida Governor Ron DeSantis
- Chief of Engineers and Commanding General of the U.S. Army
Corps of Engineers Lt. Gen. Todd T. Semonite
- Miami-Dade County Mayor Carlos Gimenez
- Miami Beach Mayor Dan Gelber
The media opportunity schedule is as follows:
1:15 p.m. – 1:45 p.m. – Media Briefing
1:45 p.m. – 2 p.m.: B-roll opportunity to follow state and local officials as
they walk through the construction site with commander of the U.S. Army
Corps of Engineers.
