Tu B’Shevat Tree Planting Ceremony
— Celebrating the Jewish New Year for Trees —
WHO/WHAT: Join the City of Miami Beach, the Jewish National Fund and the Israeli
Consulate in a tree planting ceremony on Thursday, February 6 at 10
a.m. at Tatum Park in celebration of Tu B’Shevat, the Jewish New Year
for trees.
Mayor Dan Gelber and the Consul General of Israel Jonathan Peled will
both be speaking at the traditional event for the community. Following
the event, the city’s Environment & Sustainability Department will
distribute milkweed seeds for attendees to promote the importance of
pollinators and reusable bags to encourage individuals to do their part in
preserving the environment
Symbolizing a long-standing tradition of giving back, the unique tree
planting ceremony helps further environmental awareness throughout
the city.
