City of Miami Beach Expands Emergency Measures
–In an effort to reduce the spread of COVID-19–
Miami Beach, FL –While COVID-19 cases continue to rise across the globe, the City of
Miami Beach is implementing additional emergency measures to curtail large crowds
from gathering and encourage social distancing. In addition to the measures put into
place last night, the following are also being added:
- Starting tomorrow, all sidewalk cafes will be required to either reduce their
capacity by 50 percent or to a maximum of 50 persons, whichever less.
- Restaurant kitchens may continue to operate until midnight each day for food
delivery service only. Non-essential businesses must still close at 10 p.m.
- Lummus Park is closed.
Although the city is not requiring that occupancy loads be reduced further at this time,
the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that businesses
limit gatherings to not more than 50 people for the next eight weeks.
