RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER AND CITY
CLERK TO EXECUTE A SPONSORSHIP AGREEMENT WITH POWER
ACCESS, INC., IN THE AMOUNT OF$25,000, FOR 2021 SOUTH BEACH JAZZ
FESTIVAL.
WHEREAS, the South Beach Jazz Festival (the "Event") is an annual five (5) day public
event celebrating and building awareness of the disabled community's talents through music;and
WHEREAS, Power Access, Inc. ("Event Organizer")features and showcases jazz artists
and promotes enabling musicians to be defined by ability rather than disability; and
WHEREAS, in previous years, the event has attracted as many as 1,700 attendees; and
WHEREAS,the Event Organizer has produced the Event successfully for three(3)years,
generating significant opportunities for disabled individuals,while educating the community on the
importance of fostering access to people with disabilities; and
WHEREAS, the 2021 Event is scheduled to take place from Friday, January 8-10, 2021
in various locations in Miami Beach; and
WHEREAS,at the September 16, 2020 City Commission meeting, Commissioner Michael
GOngora's recommendation for the approval of the sponsorship, in the amount of$25,000,for the
Event was discussed and approved by the Mayor and City Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City
Commission hereby authorize the City Manager and City Clerk to execute a sponsorship
agreement with Power Access, Inc., in the amount of$25,000, for the 2021 South Beach Jazz
Festival.
