A RESOLUTION CREATING A CITY OF MIAMI'
BEACH COMMITTEE OF YOUNG PROFESSIONALS;
RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. 86-18367
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, did
on February 5, 1986, by Resolution No. 86-18367, create the Ad Hoc Committee
of Young Professionals, establish its duties, and provide for a duration of
six months; and
WHEREAS, said committee has been functioning constantly since its
appointment in carrying out the charges given to the, committee regarding special
needs of young citizensof Miami Beach, etc. and on June 18, 1986, reported
to the City Commission as to its recommendations and actions; and
WHEREAS, members of the City Commission expressed their appreciation and
pleasure in the actions taken by the Committee, and to the purpose of the
committee, and determinBd that such committee shall have permanent status;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT A COMMITTEE OF YOUNG PROFESSIONALS IS HEREBY
ESTABLISHED AS A PERMANENT COMMITTEE EFFECTIVE JUNE 18, 1986, as: follows:
1. Two members appointed by each Commissioner, with no member over
the age of 42 years.
2. Term of office to be one year.
3. Duties of committee to be as follows:
Determine the special needs of young citizens of Miami Beach.
Recommend to the City Commission the direction the City should take
to encourage young families to locate in the city.
Determine what recreational areas should be developed to appeal to
young citizens.
Make recommendations to the City Commission for appropriate actions
to be taken to implement the Committee's proposals.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Resolution No. 86-18367 be and the same is
hereby rescinded.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 18th day of June, 1986.
