SUBJECT: Mental Health Counseling at the Miami Beach Police Athletic League
Mental Health is important at every stage of life. Mental Health includes our emotional,
psychological, and social well-being. It affects how a person thinks, feels, and acts.
During these trying times with COVID-19, it is especially important for children to be
aware of their mental health, be comfortable with oneself, and stay positive.
The Miami Beach Police Athletic League has partnered up the Florida Mental Health
Coalition "FMHC", to provide free mental health counseling services for school age
children. A licensed clinician (who is a resident of Miami Beach) will come to PAL for 3
hours every Monday from 2:00 PM - 5.00 PM where will counsel one-on-one individual
therapy with identified youth; as well as group sessions on character building skills,
etc. This is completely free of charge!
Applications can be obtained at any Parks and Rec facility, the Police Athletic League
(999 11" Street), or you can email Arthur Martineau directly for the form.
( arthurmartineau@miamibeachfl.gov)
Once the application is received the clinician will schedule the appointment.
