Black Affairs Advisory Committee Motions
The purpose of this letter to the Mayor and Commission is to provide an update regarding
two motions made during the March 16, 2021 Black Affairs Advisory Committee ("BAAC")
meeting:
Motion #1: To recommend the City support the American Black Film Festival and
Art of Black Miami and the support should include, but not be limited to, financial,
marketing, promotion, messaging and communications.
The motion was made by Bibi Andrade and seconded by Valerie Crawford, and approved
unanimously.
Motion #2: To recommend the City engage and discuss, with the BAAC, issues
involving high impact weekends, with respect to cultural programming and
communication.
The motion was made by Valerie Crawford and seconded by Glendon Hall, and approved
unanimously.
