A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF THE
ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION REQUEST BY THE ARCHITECTS
FOR THE 21ST STREET RECREATION CENTER EXPANSION AND
COLLINS CANAL WALKWAY
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI
BEACH, FLORIDA;
WHEREAS, the Architect's Contract has been reviewed by the Administration
and the City Attorney; and
WHEREAS, the request for additional compensation in the amount of $1,687.50
for additional construction administration has been found to be in accordance with the terms
of the contract.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, authorizes the payment of the additional compensation
request by the Architects for the 21st Street Recreation Center Expansion and Collins Canal
Walkway.

ARCHITECTURAL SERVICES FOR CONSTRUCTION

CHANGE ORDER NO. 2
INCREASE IN CONTRACT
AMOUNT: $1,687.50
TIME EXTENSION: NONE
SOURCE OF FUNDING: UNAPPROPRIATED FUND BALANCE OF
FUND #4355 -INCOME EARNED FROM INTEREST
The current Architectural Contract with Norman M. Giller and Associates, for the design
and construction administration of 21st Street Recreation Center and Collins Canal
Walkway via 21st Street, is in the amount of $163,835.12 including Change Order No. 1. The
original contract time limit for these services was previously extended through
October 30, 1986. The project completion time has been delayed by the contractor, and the
architects have requested compensation for the additional contract administration time
expended on the project through December 12, 1986.
The City Administration and the City Attorney have reviewed the Architect's additional
compensation request and are in agreement that it is in accordance with the Contract
Documents.
Funds for this purpose are to be appropriated from the available Unappropriated Fund
Balance of Fund No. 4355, income earned from interest.
ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION:
The City Administration recommends that the Architectural Contract with
Norman M. Giller and Associates, for additional construction administration for the 21st
Street Recreation Center and Collins Canal Walkway via 21st Street, be increased in the
amount of $1,687.50. Funds for this purpose are to be appropriated from the available
Unappropriated Fund Balance of Fund No. 4355, income earned from interest.
