Aguila, Interim City Manager February 10, 2021 SUBJECT: A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORI DA, APPROVI NG AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT A DONATION FROM MR. MIKE 201, OF A PLAYSIGHT CAMERA EQUIPMENT, WITH SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE FOR THREE (3) YEARS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $18,000.00, AND A PORTION OF THE INSTALLATION COSTS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $7,383.21, FOR A TOTAL DONATION VALUE OF $25,383.21, TO BE USED FOR PLAYER ANALYSIS AT DESIGNATED TENNIS COURTS OF THE MIAMI BEACH TENNIS CENTER; SAID DONATION BEING SUBJECT TO THE PARKS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR SUCCESSFULLY NEGOTIATING AN AGREEMENT WITH PLAYSIGHT TO TRANSFER OWNERSHIP OF THE SYSTEM FROM THE DONOR TO THE CITY. BACKGROUND/HISTORY A parent from the Miami Beach Tennis Center Academy, Mr. Mike Zoi, would like to donate a Playsight Camera System and Software ("Playsight) to the City to be utilized at the Miami Beach Tennis Center. Playsight is a tennis analysis video system, in which the camera is setup in areas around the tennis courts to analyze the player's form, swing, serve, etc. The software service would cover (3) three years from the moment it goes live. ANALY SIS Mr. Zoi has filed into agreement with Enerfund LLC for the Playsight Smart Court System. He has purchased the system and software and is awaiting the City's approval to officially turnover the equipment for use. The Playsight Camera System and Software equals a value of $18,000.00. In order to install this equipment on the City's tennis courts, cabling and electrical work needs to be completed. Mr. Zoi has offered to donate $7,383.21 to cover the costs of the cabling. The City has identified funds to cover the cost of electrical for the estimated amount of $4,200.00. The City will be entering into a donation agreement with Mr. Zoi to formalize all the terms of the donation. Upon acceptance of the donation and the execution of the donation agreement, the City will then enter into an agreement with Playsight to transfer ownership of the system from Mr. Zoi to the City. Once this process is complete and the check for the cabling from Mr. Zoi has Page 463 of 1252 cleare d in the bank, the Parks and Recreation Department will take the lead on managing this project and ensure all IT requirements are met.
