Hudak, City Manager DATE: May 6, 2021 SUBJECT: #MBHistory Youth Commission Series I am pleased to update you on the status of the Miami Beach Youth Commission’s #MBHistory series to inform youth residents on the contributions of Black, Jewish, Hispanic, and LGBTQ+ community members. The Youth Commission #MBHistory series provides for five, 30-minute livestreamed segments focusing on the role of Black, Jewish, Hispanic, and LGBTQ Miami Beach community members who contributed to making Miami Beach a global tourist destination and model of tolerance despite years of what some have described as intolerance. The program, #MBHistory, will form the basis of a new curriculum on Miami Beach history that will be offered free of charge to public and private schools throughout the city.
