Scoff Rakow Youth nter Ice Skating Rink's TCO
Date: January 12, 2004
I am pleased to inform you that on Friday, January 9, 2004, the Scott Rakow Ice Rink was
issued its TCO (Temporary Certificate of Occupancy). This permits the rink to be opened
for the enjoyment and use by our residents and the public in general while the issues
remaining on the punch list are completed in anticipation of the full (CO) Certificate of
Occupancy.
The rink will initially begin operation with a "soft opening" the after noon of Tuesday,
January 13, 2004. At that time the children of the after school program held at the Youth
Center as well as current ice skaters participating in existing programs who have been
eagedy anticipating the experience of skating on the new ice will be permitted to skate. I
would extend an invitation to you to join me at the Scoff Rakow Ice Rink at 4:30 p.m. to see
this spectacular new facility and test your skills by skating on the "big ice". Please be sure
to bring your jackets and sweaters. Additionally, in acknowledgement of the delays in
opening the new ice rink endured by our residents the open session(s) admission fee will
be waived for a period of six months to enable our residents to reacquaint themselves with
our rink or experience it for the first time.
Over the next several weeks an expanded rink schedule will be implemented and when the
Certificate of Occupancy is issued a grand opening celebration will be held inviting all our
residents. An invitation will be forwarded to you when the grand opening date is
determined.
