RECOMMENDATION Administration is seeking direction on the extension of the Prekindergarten Pilot Program for the 2022-23 school year. If approved the enhancement request would be included in the FY23 budget and allow for the recruitment of providers, informational sessions to families and computerized lottery between September 2021 through December 2021 to align to PreK provider application openings and public school PreK application deadlines. Additionally, further automation of the program is needed during the summer 2021 months to support the anticipated increase in community and provider participation in year two. Further, enhanced marketing of this educational enhancement, as well as other educational enhancements, is needed to ensure community and public awareness of the City's efforts to achieve K-12 Educational Excellence.
