A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY'COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, DIRECTING THE CITY
ADMINISTRATION TO PROVIDE A PROGRESS REPORT TO
THE PLANNING BOARD AFTER FOUR DEVELOPMENTS
UTILIZING THE PROPOSED ALTON ROAD OFFICE HEIGHT
INCENTIVES ARE APPROVED, IF THE SUBJECT ORDINANCE,
WHICH IS CURRENTLY SCHEDULED FOR SECOND READING
ON JULY 28, 2021, IS ADOPTED BY THE CITY COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, on June 23, 2021, the City Commission approved an Ordinance, following
First Reading/Public Hearing, creating new development regulations for office uses on Alton
Road, including a voluntary height incentive, height limits, height exceptions, minimum ground
floor activation, upper level setback and mechanical screening requirements, and new regulations
for outdoor uses and special events; and
WHEREAS, Second Reading of the Ordinance is currently scheduled for July 28, 2021;
and
WHEREAS, in connection with approval of the Ordinance at First Reading on June 23,
2021, the City Commission adopted this Resolution, by a vote of 7-0, directing the City
Administration to present a report to the Planning Board after four developments that take
advantage of the new office height incentive are approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Commission hereby
direct the City Administration to provide a progress report to the Planning Board after four
developments utilizing the proposed Alton Road office height incentives are approved, if the
subject Ordinance, which is currently scheduled for Second Reading on July 28, 2021, is adopted
by the City Commission.
