During this process, the community expressed interest in having the mooring field in South Beach. The proposed project will be located north of 5th Street and is anticipated to include 100 mooring buoys. The mooring field will utilize the upland amenities associated with the Miami Beach Marina (300 Alton Road). Patrons of the mooring field will have access to fresh water, electricity, laundry, bathrooms, fuel, telephone, cable hook- ups, and parking. The City is requesting funding at this time for Phase 1 — design and permitting of the Miami Beach Mooring Field. The total cost of Phase 1 is approximately$156,000. The grant requires a minimum 25 percent match. Matching funds in the amount of $39,000 or 25% of the total project cost are required by the grant program.
