LTC 015-2022 Community Satisfaction Survey 2022 Questions
/\l\l/) I\IBEA H OFFICE OF THE CITY MANAGER 015-2022 NO. LTC # LETTER TO COMMISSION TO: FROM: DATE: Honorable Mayor Dan Gelbe;-wbers of the City Commission Alina T. Hudak, City ManagtJ""'i , January 12, 2022 SUBJECT: Community Satisfaction Survey 2022 Questions The purpose of this memorandum is to share the draft 2022 Resident and Business Survey questions and to provide an opportunity for City Commission feedback. I am pleased to be taking this important step essential for a resident and business friendly culture of improvement. This information is an important part of our budget process and helps us connect with and understand our broader community in a statistically significant manner. Background The survey procurement was approved by the City Commission on October 17th, 2018. The consultant completed the Community Satisfaction Survey in the Spring of 2019. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and reducing City expenses, the parties postponed the 2021 Community Satisfaction Survey to 2022. The 2019 survey dashboard is located at: https://dashboards.mysidewalk.com/miami-beach-fl-resident-survey/home. The survey questions were carried forward from 2019 and were reviewed by Directors to make sure that questions are comparable, meaningful and actionable. Core questions are benchmarked nationally, and specialized questions measure Miami Beach and Department-specific services, issues, and locations. Survey Administration Plan Survey data collection will begin in February, with reporting in April/May timeframe. The survey will be managed by ETC Institute, the 3rd party survey consultant, at random and with statistical significance. Responses will be collected by paper, phone, or online based on user preferences. The survey can be taken in English, Spanish, and Creole. Due to the challenges of obtaining participation with long surveys, this year the survey consultant has recommended that the City reduce the amount of questions. To accomplish this, each survey has two versions, with core questions asked on both surveys, but specialized questions located either on version one or version two. This will provide an acceptable accuracy of response while gathering information on a wide array of issues. The draft surveys are included as attachments and will be formatted further by the consultant. I welcome your input on the survey issues and questions. Please contact me or Amy Knowles, Chief Resilience Officer, with any feedback by Wednesday, January 19, 2022 .
