97-22454 RESO RESOLUTION NO. 97-22454 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, CREATING RESIDENTIAL PARKING PERMIT ZONE THREE WITHIN THE AREA BOUNDED BY MICHIGAN AVENUE ON THE EAST, LENOX COURT ON THE WEST, 12TH STREET ON THE SOUTH, AND 15TH STREET ON THE NORTH; PURSUANT TO SECTION 44-84 OF THE MIAMI BEACH CITY CODE. BACKGROUND: ( n May 22, 1997, the Police Department, Parks and Recreation Department, and Parking Iepll1:ment held a "Joint Workshop" at the Flamingo Park Police Athletic League (PAL) facility t( a,certain the viability of and demand for a Residential Parking Permit program. Several a ternatives for implementation were discussed, including: areas to be restricted by signage, hours o ~ r~strictions, fee structure, and visitor permit availability. Valuable input and insight were p '0\ ided by the citizenry. A public hearing has been set in order to consider further public comment n garding the proposed restrictions. .Ai NAL YSIS: Resltricted Parking Areas/Hours: 12th Street from Lenox Court to Michigan Avenue and Michigan Avenue (east side) from 12th S tre ~t to 15th Street, including the softball field parking facility, shall be Residential Parking Permit 2 one Three (restricted parking) between the hours of 11 p.m. to 6 a.m./seven days a week. ~. lichigan Avenue (west side) and Lenox Avenue (both sides) from 12th Street to 15th Street shall 1:.~ Residential Parking Permit Zone Three (restricted parking) from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday through Friday, and 24 hours a day on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays.
