Resolution 2022-31968RESOLUTION NO: 2022-31968 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING RESOLUTIONS NO. 2021-31951, 665- 2021, AND 006-2021, SETTING THE DATES FOR THE YEAR 2022 CITY COMMISSION MEETINGS, REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY MEETINGS, AND NORTH BEACH COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY MEETINGS, BY CANCELING THE FEBRUARY 23, 2022 MEETING, RESCHEDULING THE MARCH 15, 2022 MEETING TO MARCH 9, 2022, RESCHEDULING THE MAY 11, 2022 MEETING TO MAY 4, 2022, AND RESCHEDULING THE OCTOBER 19, 2022 MEETING TO OCTOBER 26, 2022. WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2.04 of the Miami Beach City Charter, the City Commission shall meet at such times as may be prescribed by Ordinance or Resolution; and WHEREAS, on December 8, 2021, the City Commission via Resolutions No. 2021-31951, 665-2021, and 006-2021 set the dates for the year 2022 City Commission, Redevelopment Agency (RDA), and North Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (NBCRA) meetings, and WHEREAS, subsequently thereto, the Aspen Institute, which was originally scheduled for March 3-7, was rescheduled to May 9-12.; and WHEREAS, as a result, it is requested the May 11, 2022 Commission Meeting be rescheduled to May 4, 2022, and the February 23, 2022 Presentations and Awards Meeting be cancelled; and WHEREAS, due to scheduling conflicts both in March and October, it is requested that the March 15, 2022 Commission Meeting be rescheduled to March 9, 2022, and the October 19, 2022 Commission Meeting be rescheduled to October 26, 2022. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, the Mayor and City Commission of the City of Miami Beach, Florida, amending Resolutions No. 2021-31951, 665-2021, and 006-2021, setting the dates for the year 2022 City Commission Meetings, Redevelopment Agency Meetings, and North Beach Community Redevelopment Agency Meetings, by canceling the February 23, 2022 meeting, rescheduling the March 15, 2022 meeting to March 9, 2022, rescheduling the May 11, 2022 Meeting to May 4, 2022, and rescheduling the October 19, 2022 Meeting To October 26, 2022. Granado, City Clerk DATE: January 20, 2022 SUBJECT.A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING RESOLUTIONS NO. 2021-31951, 665-2021, AND 006-2021, SETTING THE DATES FOR THE YEAR 2022 CITY COMMISSION MEETINGS, REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY MEETINGS, AND NORTH BEACH COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY MEETINGS, BY RESCHEDULING THE MAY 11, 2022 MEETING TO MAY 4, 2022, AND RESCHEDULING THE OCTOBER 19, 2022 MEETING TO OCTOBER 20, 2022. RECOMMENDATION Adopt the suggested Commission meeting date changes. ANALYSIS According to Section 2.04 of the Miami Beach City Charter, the City Commission shall meet at such times as may be prescribed by Ordinance or Resolution. On December 8, 2021, the City Commission via Resolutions No. 2021-31951, 665-2021, and 006-2021 set the dates for the year 2022 City Commission, Redevelopment Agency (RDA), and North Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (NBC RA) meetings. Subsequently to the adoption of the Resolution, the Aspen Institute, which was originally scheduled for March 3-7, was rescheduled to May 9-12. Therefore, the May 11, 2022 Commission meeting should be rescheduled to May 4, 2022. Also, as a result of religious holidays in October, the October 19, 2022 Commission Meeting should be rescheduled to October 20, 2022. The Office of the City Clerk is seeking approval of the above suggested changes. Upon approval of the new Commission meeting dates, an after -the -fact Resolution will be adopted.
