INVESTIGATIONS TEAM
The purpose of this Letter to Commission is to inform the Commission on the progress of
the three Code Compliance Officers budgeted this fiscal year dedicated to the Short-Term
Rental (STR) Investigations Team. Since inception of this dedicated unit on 10/25/2021,
an additional 928 hours have been accomplished towards inspections/investigations of
illegal STRs in the City of Miami Beach.
During the period of 10/25/2021 -12/31/2021, this dedicated STR team pursued 321
investigations of illegal short term/transient rentals. These investigations resulted in 112
violations during this period.
We will continue to keep you updated on the progress of this team.
