Resolution 2022-32063RESOLUTION NO: 2022-32063 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH TO ACCEPT A DONATION FROM THE LOEWS MIAMI BEACH HOTEL OPERATING COMPANY INC., FOR SERVICES HAVING A TOTAL ESTIMATED VALUE OF $1,450.00 FOR THE "TAKE CARE OF OUR CITY" MARKETING CAMPAIGN RESIDENT INCENTIVE. WHEREAS, the City of Miami Beach is launching the "Take Care of our City" marketing campaign aimed at promoting safety and regulatory messaging, while promoting local offerings during Spring Break 2022; and WHEREAS, residents and visitors will be able to engage with the pieces of creative by scanning QR codes and be taken to an external website where they can look through the various safety tips and lists of favorite things to do in Miami Beach, as curated by our local residents; and WHEREAS, the Administration is encouraging residents to become involved by submitting their profile to be included in the campaign to promote what they love about Miami Beach as well as their top safety tips; and WHEREAS, three (3) residents will be randomly chosen from the list of all resident submissions for the "Take Care of our City' campaign to win one of the prizes being supplied by the Loews Miami Beach Hotel Operating Company Inc; and WHEREAS, the prizes being given away include a two (2) night stay at the Loews Miami Beach hotel (value of $500.00 USD), a $200 gift certificate to Lure Fish Bar (value of $200.00 USD), and a cabana poolside day rental (value of $750.00 USD); and WHEREAS, the Administration recommends that the Mayor and City Commission approve the donation of services from the aforestated sponsor, in the total amount of $1,450.00, to cover the costs of the prizing. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DULY RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI BEACH, FLORIDA, that the Mayor and City Commission hereby approve and authorize the acceptance of a donation from the Loews Miami Beach Hotel Operating Company, Inc, for services having a total estimated value of $1,450.00, for the "Take Care of Our City' marketing campaign resident incentive. RECOMMENDATION The Administration recommends that the Mayor and City Commission approve the donation of services from the Loews Miami Beach Hotel Operating Company, Inc., in a total approximate amount of $1,450.00, to be used as contest prizing for resident involvement in the 'Take Care of our City' Spring Break Safety campaign. BACKGROUND/HISTORY The City administration is implementing a "Take Care of our City' marketing campaign aimed at promoting City of Miami Beach laws and safety regulations, while also highlighting the amazing offerings taking place in our City during the month of March. In order for this campaign to be successful, we have asked for the involvement of our entire community. The administration has held numerous outreach meetings, and on February 10, 2022 a community webinar was held to encourage residents to join our campaign to further promote our laws and highlight their favorite Miami Beach locations or experiences. The following day, on February 11, 2022, a link to the webinar recording was sent out to all residents who are registered for the City of Miami Beach bi-weekly e-briefs and it was also promoted on our social channels. In order to incentivize our residents to participate in the campaign, the Loews Hotel Miami Beach has offered the following prizes to be given away to three (3) separate residents who have voluntarily taken part in the initiative: 2 night stay at the Loews Miami Beach (appx $500 value) Page 128 of 874 $200 certificate at Lure Fish Bar ($200 value) SOAK Poolside Cabana Certificate ($750 value) Following the launch of the campaign on February 28, 2022, the administration will randomly draw three (3) names from the list of residents who have agreed to be included in our campaign. Those three (3) residents will be randomly awarded one of the prizes listed above. The above offers will be awarded separately, and each resident will only qualify for one (1) single prize.
