OFFICE OF THE CITY MANAGER
NO. L TC # 196-2022 LETTER TO COMMISSION
TO:
FROM:
Honorable Mayor Dan Gelber and Members of the City Commission
Alina T. Hudak, City Manag~
DATE: May 16, 2022 V(\ r .
SUBJECT: Miami Beach receives $2.5 million in grant funding for the Family Pathways
Program from the Children's Trust
The purpose of this LTC is to notify the Mayor and City Commission that the Office of
Housing and Community Services' Children's Trust grant funded Family Neighborhood
Support's Partnership (FNSP) Success University Program has been recommended for
funding for the next five-year cycle beginning October I, 2022. The funding award
amount is for $2.5 million to be divided over the course of the five-year cycle.
We would also like to notify that Success University Program will soon be renamed
Family Pathways. Our soon to be former name, Success University Program, had many
families and partners expressing confusion with the name, mistaking us with an
institution of education. The name Family Pathways captures the uniqueness of each of
our families, their individualized needs, their goals, and their path of care coordination
wrap-around services that will empower them to increase protective factors, encouraging
family and youth stability.
Since 2007, the City of Miami Beach has received funding for service partnership
programming. Family Pathways will continue to be a partnership of human service
providers, collaborating to provide comprehensive, individualized, and accessible
wraparound care coordinated services to families of children from birth to 18 years of
age. These free services are for families who live or work in the City of Miami Beach
and/or whose children attend a Miami-Dade County Public School within the Miami
Beach community. With this new funding for the next five-year cycle, we are excited to
continue being the only (FNSP) to serve the City of Miami Beach.

Housing and Community Services Director at ext 26175.
