Online Access of Historic Properties Database
Date: February 27, 2004
Recently, the City's Historic Properties Database was fully computerized and placed on the
City's website for access by the public. The Historic Properties Database is a catalogue of
all properties located within the City's Local Historic Districts and Sites and includes
pertinent information for each property such as the year of construction, architectural style,
the name of the architect, and its contributing status. Additionally, a map of the City's
Local Historic Districts and Sites has been added, and each property can be linked to the
Miami-Dade County Property Appraisers website, thus providing additional information on
the property.
This data is extremely useful to residents, owners, developers, architects, preservationists,
students, and realtors and allows immediate access 24 hours a day, without having to call
the City's Planning Department. As new Historic Districts and Sites are created, the
website will be updated. The administration will be promoting this new tool in the coming
weeks in order to get out the word about its availability and benefits.
