Asst. City Manager

Dear Ms. Diaz-Buttacavali:
I am writing to advise you of an exciting new alignment in the ownership of SMG. On January 5, 1998
ARAMARK and Hyatt acquired the 1/3 partner interest previously owned by Spectacor. ARAMARK and Hyatt
are now equal co-owners of SMG.
ARAMARK is a $6 billion services company with businesses around the globe. Hyatt is a worldwide hospitality
and services organization with over 177 hotels under its banner. The more prominent SMG ownership position
being taken by such prestigious companies as ARAMARK and Hyatt signals the dawn of an even more exciting
future for SMG.
While to you, our esteemed client, this change will be transparent, I felt it important that you learn of it directly
from me. This change in no way impacts SMG's relationship with you. In fact, I feel with the increased
presence of these two firmly grounded service companies, you will benefit from renewed emphasis on customer
service and professionalism. As the demand rises to insure that all out-of-home business/sports/entertainment
experiences meet the needs of a more discerning customer, this new ownership configuration positions us
perfectly to meet these needs.
The future for SMG has never been brighter.
I would like to take this opportunity to re-affirm our commitment to you to manage your facility with the utmost
of professionalism bringing to bear all of our industry knowledge to insure that your facility is reaching its
potential.
My very best wishes for a happy, healthy and prosperous 1998.
Sincerely,
w~~
Wes Westley
