RE: Audit Committee Motions
The following motions were approved at the October 17, 2022 meeting of the Audit Committee:
Motion: The City of Miami Beach Audit Committee opposes the proposed amendment to remove
the internal audit function from the Office of the Inspector General. The Audit Committee
members believe that the OIG is best way for the City to ensure independence and transparency
in its internal audit function, consistent with the intent of the original ordinance and the trend
toward establishing offices of inspector general to provide independent oversight of local
government.

Motion: In light of the Office of the Inspector General's report regarding the Miami Beach
